After an stellar performance at Major 3, Ultra is off to a rocky slow start in Major 4.

After winning the Call of Duty League Major 3 Championship, Toronto Ultra isn't starting Major 4 how they, or the rest of us, thought they would. They dropped their first two games of the Major last weekend against Boston Breach and Seattle Surge. While both teams have been performing as well as any team in the CDL, it's surprising to see Toronto drop both games.

Their first match against Boston was a lot of back and forth. In the Embassy Hardpoint, Toronto was winning their gunfights, but Boston was able to knock them off the hill and win in close quarters. Three of the four Boston players had over 30 kills and had a team total of 76 non-traded kills.

Each round was extremely close. The rounds that Toronto lost were minimal. If one more thing goes their way, they could have won any of those rounds. If they were in better places to get traded or make a trade, their likely winning this match. They lost 3-2, but it easily could have been flipped in their favor and even a sweep.

The game against Seattle was similar to the one against Boston. Toronto was better about being in positions to get trades, making every round they lost as close as possible. One more hill hold or a better route on SnD, and we are discussing them winning the match. Again, Toronto dropped the match 3-2 but could have easily been flipped around.

It's the little things Toronto needs to fix heading into the second weekend of Major 4. They have a tough match against Atlanta FaZe on Saturday, which Toronto beat to get to the Major 3 Championship. FaZe is also in a bit of a slump, and it will be a get-right game for both teams.

Toronto will finish their weekend, taking on the Florida Mutineers on Sunday. Florida took FaZe to a hard-fought game five and was swept by the Minnesota RØkkr.

If Toronto wants to show that they are the best team in the league, they'll need to show that they can beat FaZe again and dominate Florida. Teams in every sport go through slumps, and Toronto is not immune to that. Expect them to bounce back after last weekend and return to their winning ways.
